Associate degree in Engineering, Baccalaureate in Natural Sciences, or equivalent of an accredited educational institution. High school graduate.
Driver’s License for light motor vehicles issued by DTOP and one of these certifications required: Technician Training Certification Program (TTCP); American Concrete Institute (ACI); National Center for Asphalt Technologies (NCAT); or equivalent.
Spanish and English, fully bilingual
Ability to work in a team.
Make samples and/or test materials.
Test the mixture in asphalt plants.
Prepare and compose technical reports.
Reading and understanding of ASTM/AAHTO standards and ACT specifications in English.
High physical work exertion work, including preparation of concrete mixtures, soils, aggregates, asphalt, etc. to carry out samples and/or material testing.
Condition of employment:
Must take the course and pass TTCP exam required by FHWA and maintain the validity of this certification while performing the functions as an engineering technician.
