Hurricane Mitch ripped through Honduras in late 1998 causing widespread destruction to its infrastructure. This USAID financed program provided funds to build and improve potable water treatment plants, water distribution networks, storm and sewer systems, pumping stations and wastewater treatment facilities. The client required engineering services for various projects to design and plan the reconstruction of vital water and sewer systems.
As part of a temporary association with CH2M Hill and CONASH, CSA provided detailed design of various water and wastewater projects for several municipalities throughout the country. Following the design stage, the team provided construction supervision and inspection services.
The engineering design team produced the required construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates and bid-documents. These services also included ground surveying, hydrological studies, geotechnical evaluation, exploratory water-wells, environmental studies and interagency coordination. The work was completed timely and efficiently on an extremely aggressive schedule.
