CSA provided full support to the Puerto Rico Aqueduct & Sewer Authority (PRASA) for the development and planning for the design and construction of the Valenciano System. The support included a robust environmental impact statement development, environmental permitting with local and federal agencies, hydraulic analysis, design of the dam and distribution system, firm yield analysis, structural and stability analysis and design of the dam appurtenances, coordination support for the 23MGD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and construction of an endangered species (Coquí Guajón) habitat restoration project.

The normal pool elevation of the reservoir was planned for approximately 328 feet above sea level and to inundate approximately 433 acres. The reservoir has a drainage area of approximately 14.5 square miles and a volume capacity of approximately 3,370 million gallons when water level reaches the maximum pool level, 335 feet above sea level.
