MACY’S EMPLOYEE SERVICES, STOCK ROOMS, AND PROCESSING AREAS

The project entails the development and subsequent design and construction administration of new Employee Services, and Stock Rooms in the Herald Square store. Macy’s desired a re-design of the Employee Service areas to be commensurate with the renovations underway at the flagship store. The work areas included are:

  • 9th Floor Lockers and Break Room (including an Interactive/Media area) – 15,959 sf, men’s and women’s toilet rooms – complete remodeling of existing– 2,885 sf, 9th Mezzanine preparation of demolition drawings to remove mezzanine area – 3,000 sf
  • 11th Floor HR Complex, Credit Union and Offices – 14,781 sf including men’s and women’s toilet rooms – complete remodeling of existing– 923 sf and design of new cabs for two elevators to be reactivated and with upgraded elevator machine room to meet current codes.

CSA provided interior design, architectural and engineering services including document review, survey and code analysis, preliminary planning and programming, design plans and specifications, design presentation, construction documentation for filing and bidding, and construction administration services to manage contractor agreements and payments, respond to RFI’s and conducted a punch list walk through.
