The intent of this project was to renovate and repurpose the existing complex of buildings assembled on the site of the former Provident Mutual Life Insurance Company at 4601 Market Street in West Philadelphia, into a state-of-the-art campus of buildings that would service the City’s police, public health department, and morgue. The Police Administration Headquarters, Medical Examiner’s Office and Morgue and the Department of Public Health Laboratories were located in structures that were no longer serviceable for their evolving operations. Three existing buildings on the site totaling 375,000 sq. ft. and the new project add another 100,000 sq. ft. of additional program space. CSA services included HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection design for the following project phases: Programming/Concept, Schematic Design and Design Development.
