The project added a thermal drying facility to the existing Philadelphia Water Department’s Biosolids Recycling Center (BRC) near the Southwest Water Pollution Control Plant. The project scope consisted of 17,000 sq. ft. thermal drying building with two thermal drying units, conveyors and appurtenances; odor control system consisting of Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTO) and liquid chemical scrubbers; dried pellet storage and unloading facility. Modifications were made to the existing dewatering building for conveyance of dewatered bio-solids to the thermal drying building.

CSA’s services included engineering (Structural, MEP) services during construction, structural design for the building and equipment access platforms, building and equipment foundations and building services (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing) process equipment Electrical Design.
