UNIVISION HD STUDIOS A & B ADDITION AND RENOVATION

CSA Group in association with Lemartec Engineering and Construction Corporation was responsible for full architectural and engineering design services for two HD studios at the Univision Headquarters in Doral.
The scope of work consists of the development of approximately a half-acre footprint adjacent to the north side of the existing Univision Broadcasting Center. The new facility incorporates two HD studios: a large Studio “E” consisting of 15,000 SF and a small Studio “F” consisting of 5,000 SF. The facility contains support spaces including an audience holding area, audience lobby, private green rooms, make-up rooms, single-user restrooms, offices and conference room.
The new facility is designed to provide hurricane protection for ratings of high category 3 to low category 4 hurricanes and will be supported by Generator power and includes sophisticated life safety systems for all areas. The construction work was executed in a fully occupied facility requiring a strategic phasing design plan.
CSA Group provided full architectural and engineering design-build services including schematic design, design development, construction documents and construction administration.
