SCDPW Carlls River Watershed Sewer CM

Suffolk County, NY

The project’s main objective is to integrate a sanitary sewer collection system into the Carlls River Watershed and connect it to the Bergen Point Wastewater Treatment Plant. This involves installing 150,000 linear feet of sewer to provide connections for 3,000 homes. Additionally, the project includes designing pump stations, extending sewer house connection laterals to the buildings, and decommissioning septic systems.

This assignment is part of the Suffolk County Coastal Resiliency Initiative, which aims to mitigate the impacts of natural hazards on human life, property, surface waters, and coastal wetlands caused by failures in onsite wastewater treatment and disposal systems. The initiative was prompted by the effects of Superstorm Sandy.  CSA is involved in the project as a subconsultant to D&B Engineering performing construction inspections and providing office support as needed throughout a 30-month duration.
