The AIA Long Island Chapter hosted their annual awards ceremony, and the Urbahn team was recognized for excellence in architectural design. The program’s goal is to increase the awareness of today’s outstanding architecture and to honor the architects, clients, and consultants who work together to create these projects.
The SUNY Farmingdale State College Applied Social Sciences Building includes a new 45,000 GSF building for the School of Applied Social Science to include the Applied Social Sciences Building brought bringing together the underserved yet growing departments of Economics, Geography, Psychology, and Sociology. This project also includes the relocation of the President’s Cottage and the demolition of Hughes Hall, a 38,630 GSF 4-story reinforced concrete and masonry building.
CSA was contracted to provide plumbing and fire protection engineering design and construction administration services for the new School project. All systems were designed for LEED® certification and coordinated with all trades. CSA was also responsible for energy modeling for the project. The software utilized for the energy model was Trane Trace 700. This project is scheduled for completion by 2022.
